Note: the poll start coincided with the AusDM conference, which resulted in an enthusiastic response from attendees of that conference to the poll.

The number of poll respondents in not large enough for significant statistical analysis, but we can make some observations.

The average number of conferences per voter is 1.4.

The conferences most attended by those who attended KDD-07 are SAS M2007, ECML/PKDD, and ICDM.

AusDM View: The AusDM series of data mining conferences has worked hard to bring together both academic and industry participation, bridging the divide between research and practise. The enthusiasm of these AusDM attendees from both sides of the traditional divide may well account for the polling results.
